Strong Wool Speaks

Strong Wool: also known as coarse or carpet wool, is durable, biodegradable and readily absorbs sound.

As part of a Masters in Art and Design at AUT a material driven design process was employed to research digitally knitted acoustic applications for Strong Wool.

In partnership with Autex Industries, and with funding from Ministry of Primary Industries' Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures Fund, a commercial product concept was developed.
